When a Therapy Referral May Be Helpful

A referral to therapy may be appropriate when an individual:

  • Reports ongoing anxiety, sadness, irritability, or emotional distress
  • Frequently presents with stress-related concerns
  • Feels overwhelmed by work, caregiving, family, or relationship demands
  • Has difficulty coping with a recent loss or major life transition
  • Struggles with low self-worth, shame, or negative thinking
  • Needs additional support beyond medication management
  • Would benefit from learning practical coping and emotional regulation skills
  • Is medically stable but continues to experience emotional or behavioral health concerns
  • Expresses interest in faith-sensitive or Christian counseling

Anchored Hope CC does not provide emergency, crisis stabilization, psychological testing, medication management, or services that require a higher level of care.

Individuals experiencing an immediate psychiatric emergency should call 911, visit the nearest emergency room, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Therapeutic Approach

Therapy at Anchored Hope CC is supportive, collaborative, and practical. Treatment is personalized according to each person’s concerns, strengths, values, and goals.

Our approach may include:

Christian Counseling and Faith Integration

Anchored Hope CC offers Christian counseling and faith integration when requested.

Faith-based support may include exploring how spiritual beliefs, prayer, Scripture, identity, forgiveness, purpose, and hope relate to emotional wellness and personal growth.

Christian counseling is always optional. Individuals of all backgrounds are welcome, and faith is never required or imposed as part of treatment.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps individuals understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Therapy may focus on identifying unhelpful thought patterns, developing healthier perspectives, and practicing more effective responses.

DBT-Informed Skills

DBT-informed therapy may include skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, healthy communication, and navigating difficult relationships.

Mindfulness and Grounding

Mindfulness and grounding techniques can help individuals slow down, reconnect with the present moment, and respond more intentionally to stress and emotional discomfort.

Strength-Based and Person-Centered Care

Therapy recognizes each individual’s strengths, lived experiences, resilience, and capacity for growth. The therapeutic relationship is approached with compassion, respect, and collaboration.

Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-informed care prioritizes emotional safety, trust, choice, and empowerment. Individuals are not pressured to discuss experiences before they feel prepared to do so.

  • Sharing information relevant to the referral
  • Discussing discharge or additional care needs

Without appropriate written authorization, information about an individual’s participation in therapy generally cannot be disclosed, except when permitted or required by law.
