Practical therapy with room for your faith
You can love God, have faith, pray, and still find yourself anxious, discouraged, overwhelmed, hurt, uncertain, or simply tired of carrying so much.
Christian counseling gives you a place to talk honestly about what you are experiencing without having to separate your emotional wellness from your faith. At Anchored Hope CC, I offer online Christian counseling for adults throughout Michigan who would like their Christian beliefs to be thoughtfully incorporated into therapy.
Your faith does not have to replace practical mental health tools—and therapy does not have to leave your faith outside the room.
Together, we can make room for both.
Faith and therapy can work together
You may be looking for a therapist who understands that your relationship with God is an important part of how you see yourself, make decisions, navigate difficult seasons, and find hope.
Maybe you’ve been praying about something for a long time but still feel stuck.
Maybe you know what Scripture says, yet you’re having a hard time believing it applies to you emotionally.
Maybe you’ve been strong for everyone else, and you’re wondering where you can finally be honest about how tired you are.
Or maybe you’re simply looking for practical therapy with a therapist who respects and understands your Christian faith.
Christian counseling can give you space to explore those things without judgment.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
Sometimes seeking support isn’t a sign that your faith isn’t strong enough. It can be one way to create space to slow down, understand what’s happening within you, and begin caring for yourself differently.
What can Christian counseling help with?
Faith-based counseling can support many of the same concerns addressed in traditional therapy, including:
- Anxiety, worry, and overthinking
- Depression and low mood
- Low self-esteem and negative self-talk
- Stress and emotional overwhelm
- Grief and loss
- Life transitions and uncertainty
- Relationship concerns
- Boundaries and people-pleasing
- Confidence and decision-making
- Anger, resentment, and unresolved hurt
- Emotional regulation
- Trauma-related patterns
- Women’s emotional wellness
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or your sense of purpose
You don’t need to be experiencing a crisis to begin therapy. You may recognize that something in your life, thoughts, emotions, or relationships needs attention.

Christian counseling at Anchored Hope CC is client-led. Faith is incorporated according to your comfort level, beliefs, and preferences.
Your sessions may include a combination of:
Scripture and Biblical Reflection
We may explore Scripture that connects with what you’re working through and consider how biblical truth can be applied practically in your everyday life.
Prayer
If prayer is meaningful to you, it may be incorporated into sessions as a way to pause, reflect, seek wisdom, or close our time together.
CBT and Thought Work
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help you identify negative or unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier ways of responding to them.
This might also include noticing where fear, shame, perfectionism, or self-criticism conflicts with what you believe about God’s grace and your identity.
DBT-Informed Skills
Practical skills may help you manage difficult emotions, tolerate distress, communicate more effectively, and respond intentionally rather than react automatically.
Mindfulness and Grounding
We can incorporate grounding and mindfulness practices that help you slow down, become more aware of what you’re experiencing, and reconnect with what matters most.
Strengths-Based Therapy
Therapy is not only about what is going wrong. We will also identify strengths, values, resources, growth, and evidence of resilience already present in your life.
You don’t have to know exactly what you need
One concern I often hear is some version of:
“I know something needs to change, but I’m not even sure what I need help with.”
That’s okay.
You don’t need a perfectly worded goal before starting therapy.
Sometimes you begin with:
“I’m overwhelmed.”
“I don’t feel like myself.”
“I keep second-guessing everything.”
“I’m tired of repeating the same patterns.”
“I know I need to make some changes.”
Or simply:
“I don’t know where to start.”
We can start there.
Together, we’ll slow things down, identify what’s been weighing on you, explore patterns that may be contributing to how you feel, and develop practical goals as we go.
Christian counseling is always your choice
You do not have to use Scripture, prayer, or faith-based practices in every session.
You determine how helpful faith integration feels.
Some clients want Christian counseling to be central to their therapy. Others primarily prefer traditional therapy while occasionally exploring how their beliefs relate to a particular situation.
Both are welcome.
My goal is not to tell you what you should believe or to provide pastoral counseling. My role is to provide professional mental health therapy while respecting and, when desired, thoughtfully integrating the Christian faith that is meaningful to you.
